Dhanurasana – Bow Pose


Benefits:

  • improves posture
  • improves flexibility in shoulders and chest
  • strengthens the core, legs and back

Tips:

  • press your feet into your hands to lift the chest
  • tuck your tailbone, pressing your pubic bone into the floor
  • engage your core muscles
  • roll the shoulders down and back, keeping your neck long
  • if you feel pinching in your lower back, release the pose and try one side at a time – right hand holding right ankle and lifting up, then left hand holding left ankle
