Tips:

  • press the tops of your feet into the mat and feel that your quadriceps are engaged
  • tuck your tailbone and engage your core muscles, lifting the navel in and up
  • press your hands into the floor until your hips and legs also come up, leaving only your hands and feet on the mat
  • if you feel pinching in your lower back, practice cobra pose instead
