Mindful Eating Program
Mindful Eating Program
I’m sure we can all picture what mindless eating looks like, right? We might, at first, think that mindful eating is the complete opposite, involving paying utmost attention to what we’re putting in our mouths at all times. That’s not exactly true.
To better understand mindful eating, let’s consider what it’s not.
- It’s not about judgment. I’m not interested in making your feel bad or guilty about your choices. Haven’t we condemned ourselves enough in our lives?
- It’s not about counting calories. Anyone who’s ever tried this knows how time consuming it is. Not only that, but it takes all the fun out of eating! We have taste buds for a reason. Eating is pleasurable, and this is a good thing.
- It’s not about depriving yourself.
- It’s not about stressing yourself out about food.
- It’s most certainly not a “diet.”
What is it then?
Mindful eating is all about bringing more consciousness to the experience of eating and all that surrounds it. Think of it almost like an experiment. In this program, you’ll receive weekly relaxation podcasts as well as exercises to complete throughout the week. Each exercise is an opportunity to learn something about yourself. You’ll learn to cultivate some awareness and understanding about the decisions you make, and to be present with the experience of eating. Mindful eating is an excellent tool to help you let go of an unhealthy relationship with food and instead choose a relaxed and sustainable approach to eating. You might even have fun with it!
- It’s about curiosity.
- It’s about awareness.
- It’s about acceptance.
- It’s about relaxing.
- It’s about tuning in.
Each week for four weeks, you’ll receive an email that provides exclusive access to a relaxation podcast, and mindfulness exercises that will help you to bring more awareness to your relationship with food. Get ready for lasting change!
